Two adults and three young children have been rescued from a speed boat that became stuck in mud in an estuary in Essex.
Firefighters laid out rescue paths to the boat that was stranded in Benfleet Creek about 15 metres from the shore.
A man and a woman and three young children under the age of 10 were on board.
The coastguard called firefighters who brought them ashore on Wednesday evening.
Assistant divisional officer Nigel Dilley said: "If you are planning a day trip out to sea always make sure that everyone on board wears a life jacket and that you are aware of the tide times before you set sail."
