Man charged with GBH after attack on Essex teenager

A man has been charged with an assault which left a teenager requiring extensive facial reconstructive surgery.

The 18-year-old victim, who is from Chingford, was assaulted in High Road, Loughton, on 3 May.

He was treated for serious facial injuries and had specialist dental surgery.

A man, 26, from South Woodford, east London, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was also charged with assaulting a second man at Loughton on the same day.

He has been bailed to appear at Harlow Magistrates' Court on 1 September.

An 18-year-old Loughton man who was arrested in connection with the assault has been released without charge.
