Woman injured in Basildon M25 crash dies

A woman injured in a crash on the M25 in Essex has died.

A Fiesta, Mini and BMW were involved in a collision on the anti-clockwise section between junctions 30 and 29 in Basildon on Wednesday.

Laura Williams, 23, from Chelmsford, was a front-seat passenger in the Mini. She was taken to Basildon University Hospital where she died on Friday.

The Fiesta driver, 32, from Basildon, has been re-arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and bailed.

The crash closed a stretch of the road for seven hours while debris was cleared and officers investigated.

The Mini and BMW drivers were not injured.
