Injured man, under van, arrested in Essex

A man has been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and tampering with a vehicle, after being injured when a van was driven off while he was underneath it.

Police were called to Sherwood, North Stifford, Essex, on Wednesday night after reports of an injured man lying on the road.

He was taken to Basildon General Hospital with internal injuries.

A 33-year-old man was bailed to return to Grays police station on 16 October.
