Charge over attack on bus passenger, 92, in Basildon

A man has been charged by police investigating an attack on a 92-year-old passenger on a bus in Essex.

The man was assaulted on a number eight bus, which travels from Pitsea Broadway via Basildon and Laindon and back to Pitsea, on 17 September.

A 28-year-old man from Basildon was arrested on Monday and later charged with actual bodily harm.

He has been released on bail and will appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on 4 November.
