Brentwood fatal car crash driver named

A man who died when the car he was driving crashed in Essex has been named as a 21-year-old who lived locally.
Jake Staines, from Romford, was in a silver Ford Focus on the A1023, Brook Street, Brentwood, on 14 December when the car left the road and hit a tree.
Firefighters cut Mr Staines and a 21-year-old female passenger free from the vehicle.
The woman was taken to the Royal London Hospital and is in a serious condition, a police spokesman said.
