Three arrested over fight near pub in Essex

Three men have been arrested and bailed after a 26-year-old suffered a serious head injury in a fight near an Essex pub early on Christmas Day.

The victim, who is from Colchester, was knocked unconscious during a large disturbance outside The Ship Inn in Walton Road, Kirby Le Soken.

He is at Queen's Hospital in Romford, where his condition is described as stable.

Three men, aged 18, 19 and 20, are due to answer bail on 29 December.

Police said two other men received injuries that required treatment.
