Copper roof tiles theft closes Basildon school

A school in Essex has been closed all day after £25,000 worth of copper was stolen from its roof.

Willows Primary School in Church Road Basildon was targeted sometime overnight on Monday, into the early hours of Tuesday.

The school had to be closed for safety reasons following the theft of the copper tiles.

Essex Police are investigating and have asked for anyone with information to contact them.
