More body parts have been found by police in a search for a missing man whose severed arms were discovered in an Essex lake.

Anthony Whitefield's arms were found in water off Roding Lane, Buckhurst Hill.

Douglas Binet, of Hanson Drive, Loughton, is due before Chelmsford Crown Court on 27 June charged with murdering Mr Whitefield in Loughton.

The 53-year-old was remanded in custody following a hearing earlier at Harlow Magistrates' Court.

Police said they had found more body parts after searching a property and were continuing to look for other remains.

Senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Lucy Robinson said: "During a search of Mr Binet's home address further body parts were discovered which are suspected to be those of victim Tony Whitefield.

"Police continue to search for other remains. For operational reasons we will not be disclosing what further body parts have been found."
