Car driver dies in hospital days after crash in Essex


A 79-year-old driver whose car crashed in Essex during last Monday's rush hour has died in hospital.

The man was taken to Queens Hospital, Romford, after his Saab crashed into a stationary Citroen on the A128 at Pilgrims Hatch, north of Brentwood.

The man suffered chest injuries and died on Friday. A post mortem examination is to be held to establish his cause of death.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

It happened opposite Viking Way.
