Man is charged with cable theft in Essex

A 19-year-old man has been charged with the theft of 730 metres of cable, worth more than £7,000, in Essex.

Police were called to a report a telephone cable was being tampered with in Tollesbury Road, Tollesbury, shortly before midnight on 18 April.

Following the incident three men were arrested.

A man from Romford has now been charged with the theft of cable. Two other men were released without charge.
