Stabbing in Southend: Woman in attempted murder arrest

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in an Essex seaside resort on Saturday.

The 27-year-old woman from Southend was arrested after a man was found on the town's Eastern Esplanade with stab wounds at about 2330 BST.

The man, aged 37 and also from Southend, is in hospital in a serious but stable condition, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
