Essex stabbing: Woman in attempted murder arrest bailed

A 27-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Essex on Saturday has been released on bail until 6 June pending further inquiries.

The woman, from Southend, was arrested after a man was found on the resort's Eastern Esplanade with stab wounds.

The 37-year-old man, also from Southend, remains in hospital being treated for injuries not considered life threatening, police said.

Officers are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
