Joseph Ball Southend motorcycle crash death: Man charged

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a six-year-old boy was struck by a motorcycle in Essex.

Joseph Ball, from Westcliff, and his mother were crossing London Road, near the junction with Balmoral Road, in Southend, on Monday, when he was hit.

He died soon afterwards.

Police said a 26-year-old man from Southend has also been charged with failing to stop and driving without a licence and insurance.

He is due before Southend magistrates on Thursday.
