Youths held in Southend girl rape inquiry

Two teenagers have been arrested by police investigating the rape of a girl in Essex.

The 15-year-old girl was attacked by several men behind Adventure Island off Marine Parade, in Southend, on 8 April.

Two 17-year-old youths from Rochester in Kent were arrested on suspicion of offences under the Sexual Offences Act, police said.

They have been released on police bail until 8 December while the investigation continues.
