A man has been charged after a crash in Essex in which three people, including two police officers, were injured.

A police car was in a collision involving three other vehicles on the A414 in Danbury on Thursday.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with aggravated vehicle-taking and will appear before Chelmsford magistrates on Saturday.

A 25-year-old woman injured in the crash is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

A spokesman for Essex Police said officers were searching for another man, who could be in another county.

Detectives are working with the county's police force to arrest the suspect.

Two police officers injured in the crash have been discharged from Broomfield Hospital in Essex and are recovering at home, the spokesman said.
