Second arrest over Essex police car crash

A second person has been arrested in connection with a crash involving four cars, including an Essex police car, which left a woman seriously hurt.

Two police officers were also injured in the crash, on the A414 in Danbury on 5 April.

A 21-year-old man from east London is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle-taking.

A 20-year-old man was remanded in custody by Chelmsford magistrates on Saturday charged with the same offence.

The 25-year-old woman injured in the crash is in a serious but stable condition, police said.

The two police officers are recovering at home after being treated at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
