Eight sheep killed in barn fire in Essex

Eight sheep have been killed in a fire in a farm building in Essex.

Firefighters were called at about 15:30 BST on Saturday to the blaze at a barn in Roast Green, Clavering.

Essex Fire Service said three fire crews were called to the fire, which involved about 20 tonnes of hay.

The fire was brought under control by 17:50 BST by the crews with help from the farmer. The fire service said the cause of the blaze was not thought to be suspicious.
