A watch worth £12,700 and a £12,000 gold bracelet have been stolen from a house in Essex.

The Rolex watch, which has gold and diamonds on its face, money, and other items of jewellery were taken from a property in Coggeshall Road, Marks Tey.

Essex Police say intruders broke into the home on Wednesday or Thursday and also stole items including a £10,000 cheque, a passport and bank books.

Det Con Steve King said: "The victim is extremely distressed."

Police said there was a chance the thieves would try to use the passport to cash in the cheque, which is made payable to the victim.
