Death by dangerous driving charge over Theydon Bois

An 87-year-old has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after an elderly man was struck by a car in Essex.

Ambrose Skingle, 86, was hit by a Fiat car in Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, near Epping, on 17 January. He died in hospital in Harlow on 13 February.

The man, from nearby Abridge, has also been charged with making a false statement to obtain a driving licence.

He has been bailed to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates on 15 August.
