Kyle Ogilvie denies attempted murder of James Johnson

A woman has told a court how she saw a man with a knife stuck in his head outside an Essex house party.

Kyle Ogilvie, 22, is on trial at Chelmsford Crown Court for the attempted murder of James Johnson, 20, in May this year in Mill Lane, Harwich.

The court was told how Mr Johnson, of Harwich, suffered a serious knife wound as he walked along Mill Lane in the early hours.

Mr Ogilvie, of Station Lane in Harwich, denies attempted murder.

Giving evidence Gemma Daly, who was at the party, said she heard a woman shout "it's all kicked off".

She said she saw a man she did not recognise outside the house (Mr Johnson) with "something sticking out of his head".

People in the house went outside to see what was going on and one person - Tracey Lammond - went to help, the court was told.

Ms Daly said she did not go to help the man because the sight of a serious injury made would have made her feel unwell.

The trial continues.
