Colchester man charged with taking bus from depot

A 19-year-old man has been charged with taking a bus from an Essex depot.

A First bus was taken from Magdalen Street, Colchester, in the early hours of Saturday and was stopped in Avon Way 20 minutes later.

Ashley Barrell, of Charles Pell Road, Colchester, is charged with aggravated vehicle taking and drink-driving. He is also charged with having no insurance and no driving licence.

He was bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on 9 September.
