Man arrested on suspicion of Chelmsford murder

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in Essex.

The body was discovered about 08:30 BST at a flat in Broomfield Road, Chelmsford. The man had been stabbed multiple times, police said.

The area behind The Ship pub has been cordoned off while forensic investigations are carried out.

Essex Police said the man remained in custody and would be questioned by detectives,

Det Ch Insp Martin Pasmore, who is leading the investigation, said: "I'm keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.

"The victim was found with stab injuries in a property on a busy road and I would urge anyone with information to contact me."
