A lorry driver attacked another HGV with a crowbar during a 30 minute altercation between two fast-moving vehicles, Essex Police has said.

The lorries were on the M11 on Monday when a Mercedes was forced on to the hard shoulder by a Volvo.

The altercation continued along the M25 and the A127, towards Basildon.

After forcing the Mercedes into the central reservation, police said the driver of the Volvo "leaned out of his window and attacked the other lorry".

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Considerable damage was caused and this all happened while the vehicles were driving on a busy dual carriageway at 50mph."
