E-fit issued of rape suspect in attack near Maldon Tesco store
Police investigating the rape of a woman who was dragged into bushes near an Essex supermarket, have issued an e-fit of the suspect.
The victim, who is in her 20s, was grabbed by two men in an underpass near the Fullbridge Tesco store in Maldon on 24 January, Essex Police said.
The e-fit shows a man of "Asian appearance" who is believed to have carried out the assault.
Two men arrested earlier have been released.
A 26-year-old man from Maldon and a 23-year-old from London who were arrested on Monday evening have not been charged.
Essex Police said the victim was walking away from the store near the underpass at Mill Lane some time between 17:45 and 18:15 GMT.
The e-fit image depicts a 25-30-year-old man who is 5ft 10in to 6ft tall with stubble on his face. He wore a Superdry jacket which had a green logo.
The second man was shorter than the first, and wore a black coat and hooded top with the hood up.
The force has asked for anyone who saw these men around the time of the attack, or was aware of anyone matching these descriptions "acting strangely over the weekend" to come forward.
Det Chief Insp Simon Werrett, said: "This happened around Saturday tea time, when the shop would have been busy, I am sure someone must have seen the men hanging around or even spoken to them."
