Epping Club one9five: Man critical after 20-strong brawl

A man suffered a serious head injury during a fight involving "up to 20 men" near an Essex nightclub, police said.

Officers were called to Epping High Street near Club one9five at 02:50 GMT after reports of a "large disturbance".

A man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Two other men were also taken to hospital with "minor puncture wounds" and injuries to their faces, an Essex Police spokeswoman said.

The force is appealing for anyone who witnessed the fight to get in touch.

Officers are continuing to investigate another incident in which a man suffered serious head injuries near an Essex club early on Saturday morning.

It is believed he may have been at Scenarios nightclub in Halstead before he was found injured in nearby Butler Road.

Essex Police said a 30-year-old man from Halstead and a Sudbury man, 27, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The injured man remains in a critical condition in hospital.
