A blazing lorry caused traffic chaos on the M11 earlier, closing the southbound carriageway.

Essex Fire Service said the lorry was "100% alight" by the time its firefighters attended the blaze between junctions 8 and 9.

The crews were called just after 11:00 BST and put out the fire by midday.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance but said no-one was harmed in the blaze. The southbound carriageway has since reopened.
