Travellers move off Gloucester school field

The group is thought to have moved on to the fenced-off field on 31 July

A group of travellers who set up camp on a school playing field in Gloucester have left the site.

About a dozen caravans moved on to land at the High School for Girls, in Denmark Road, on 31 July.

Legal proceedings were started and a possession order court hearing was due to be held on Monday.

But local councillor Jeremy Hilton said the group had moved on at the weekend and a new padlock had been placed on the gates to the field.
