Four arrested over Tewkesbury supermarket cash robbery


Four men have been arrested following a suspected armed robbery outside a supermarket in Tewkesbury.

A security guard loading a cash machine at Morrisons in Ashchurch Road at 1424 BST was challenged by a man wearing a green overall and holding what appeared to be a small firearm.

Cash was taken and the gang drove off in a black VW people carrier.

After a pursuit of about 40 minutes, a vehicle was stopped just off the M5 in West Bromwich, in the West Midlands.

Four men were held on suspicion of robbery are still being questioned by Gloucestershire Police.

Witnesses are urged to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234.
