Resurfacing work shuts busy Gloucestershire road

A busy road in Gloucestershire is set to be closed for resurfacing work.

The B4215, the main route between Gloucester and Newent, has suffered weather damage and wear and tear at Highnam.

The £125,000 scheme will be carried out on a stretch from Oakridge junction to just beyond the village limits.

The council said the road would be closed between 0900 BST and 1500 BST from 18 October to 22 October and 25 October to 27 October.

A Gloucestershire County Council spokesman said the road would be open during peak travelling times, in the evenings and throughout the weekends.

People are encouraged to take alternative routes and bus users are advised to check with service providers before setting off.
