Work on improvements to a maternity hospital in Gloucestershire have been completed and the unit is now open to pregnant women.
Stroud Maternity Hospital has upgraded its facilities and can now offer a birthing pool and a new day room.
The main entrance from the car park has also been improved to make access easier.
The upgrade to the facilities was undertaken by NHS Gloucestershire and the Stroud League of Friends.
The head of midwifery, Michelle Poole, said: "These new facilities create a better environment for staff, pregnant women and their families.
"Everything from the new entrance to the furnished day room creates a welcoming space for women in what is an exciting but sometimes nervous time in their lives."
