Serious sex assault in Gloucester on girl, 13

A 13-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in Gloucester.

Police said a 44-year-old man from Gloucester was in custody after being arrested in Aberystwyth in connection with the serious assault in Quedgeley.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw a silver, T-registered Renault Megane in the School Lane area between 1745 and 1800 BST on Saturday.

Det Ch Insp Marc Flannery, of Gloucestershire Police, said: "This was a very distressing incident."
