Police in Cheltenham are searching for the owner of a horse which was found on the loose in the town.
Officers were called to Tewkesbury Road on Thursday afternoon after a number of calls reporting the distressed animal.
The road was closed for a short time while the horse was captured. Police are appealing for the owner to come forward and claim it.
It is described as a bay (brown) mare, of approximately 16 hands tall with a white marking on its forehead.
"The horse had a dark blue rug on its back but no harness," a police spokesman said.
"We also ask that anyone coming forward to claim the horse present their horse passport as proof.
"At present it is kindly being looked after by a local landowner."
