Work has begun to demolish a Victorian building in Gloucester which had started to collapse.

Northgate Mansions in Spreadeagle Road was sealed off on Thursday, as its roof was falling in, its windows were smashed and the walls were bowing.

A small crowd gathered to watch the demolition of the building, believed to be an empty office block.

No vehicles or pedestrians are being allowed to walk around or past the structure for their own safety.

An engineer has said the collapse was probably caused by the icy weather.
