Three men arrested on suspicion of murdering a Gloucester man have been released on police bail.

Keith Soons, 36, was stabbed in the head in Cheltenham on Saturday. Police believe his iPhone 4 had been stolen and he was trying to get it back.

Three men, aged 26, 27 and 28, all from Cheltenham, were arrested. On Thursday they were all bailed until April, pending further inquiries.

Officers are examining CCTV pictures and continuing door-to door inquiries.

Mr Soons was found with stab wounds to his head in Wellington Lane in Pitville, Cheltenham, on Saturday.

Det Supt Simon Atkinson, who is leading the investigation, said: "Officers will be patrolling in the vicinity on the week anniversary of Keith's death speaking to those in the area.

"We will also be continuing our house-to-house inquiries and are going through an enormous amount of CCTV.

"As well as thanking those people that have already contacted us about our investigation, I would like to continue to appeal to anyone with knowledge about this incident or information that could help to contact us."
