Police are trying to trace two women who may have information on the murder of a man, who officers believe was trying to retrieve his stolen phone.

Keith Soons, 36, was stabbed in the head in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, on 5 February.

Police believe his iPhone had been stolen and he was trying to recover it.

Officers have now released CCTV images of two women taken inside the Yates's bar in Crescent Terrace at about 0040 GMT on the day Mr Soons died.

Det Supt Simon Atkinson, of Gloucestershire police, said: "We would like to reassure these women that they are not in any trouble at all but we are keen to speak to them as they may be able to help us with our investigation into Keith's death.

"We appeal to them, or anyone who knows who they are, to give us a ring as soon as possible."
