Two men have been charged with robbing and murdering a man from Gloucester.

Father-of-one Keith Soons, 36, was stabbed in the head in Cheltenham on 5 February.

The pair, aged 26 and 27 and both from the town, were arrested on Wednesday. A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said they were charged on Friday night.

Three other men, aged 26, 27 and 28, also arrested in connection with the inquiry, have been released on bail by Gloucestershire Police.

The two men charged with murder and robbery are due to appear before Cheltenham magistrates on Saturday morning.

Mr Soons, who had been on a night out when he was attacked, was found the following day with serious injuries in Wellington Lane in Pitville, Cheltenham. He was taken to hospital but died later.
