Work starts on new Cheltenham Asda supermarket

Published

Construction work has begun on a new Asda supermarket in Cheltenham that could create up to 400 jobs.

The store, on the 11-acre former Woodward Diesel Systems and Lucas site in Hatherley Lane, was given the go-ahead by borough council planners in May last year.

Letters have been sent to residents promising them that noise will be kept to a minimum during the work.

The supermarket is expected to be ready to open by the end of the year.
