Gloucester woman arrested over hoax 999 calls

A woman has been arrested in connection with hundreds of hoax and inappropriate calls made to the ambulance service and police.

Officers arrested the 45-year-old at a property in Eastern Avenue, Gloucester, on Friday morning.

A police spokesman said the arrest had come after an investigation into 514 calls to the police and 434 to the ambulance service over six months.

The woman was questioned and has been bailed until next month.

A police spokesman said a condition of her bail was that she could only call 999 in a genuine emergency.
