Flood defence scheme begins in Prestbury

Work is to begin on a new flood defence scheme in Prestbury.

The village was affected by the summer floods of 2007 which crippled the county.

Once completed, a bypass channel will run around the outskirts of Prestbury which can be used when Mill Stream is full.

Tewkesbury MP, Lawrence Robertson, will cut the first piece of turf before contractors move in to start work on the £600,000 defences.
