Gloucester wrong-way drivers given tickets

Twenty-nine fixed penalty tickets have been issued to drivers who drove the wrong way down a one-way street in the past few days, police have said.

Police in Gloucester said officers had been monitoring Worcester Parade following complaints from residents.

The motorists had been trying to avoid road works in Kingsholm Road and get to Alvin Street, the spokesman said.

He said their behaviour was "dangerous and irresponsible".
