Man taped up and beaten in Gloucester club robbery

A worker was taped up and beaten during a robbery at a social club in Gloucester.

The 53-year-old man was leaving the club in Fox Elms Road when two men ran in at about 2315 BST on Thursday.

They grabbed him and took the keys before taping him up and assaulting him.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said the robbers searched the club and made off with a "a couple of thousand" pounds. He appealed for information.

Wearing balaclavas

The victim managed to free himself a few minutes after the robbers left.

He suffered bleeding from the nose, a cut to his ear and swelling to his head and left eye, the spokesman said.

He said the first robber is described as about 5ft 7in tall and of medium build.

The second offender is described as about 5ft 9ins tall and also of medium build. Both were wearing balaclavas.
