Man is hit with bottle in Cheltenham attack

A man needed 14 stitches in his face after being hit in the face with a bottle in an attack in Cheltenham.

Police say two men, thought to be in their 20s, approached a group on Lower High Street in the early hours of Sunday, and verbally abused two women.

A man, aged 27, was then punched in the face and fell to the ground while a 24-year-old man was hit with a bottle.

Both men were taken to hospital following the attack and treated for their injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. No description of the two men has been released.
