Cheltenham Arle Court roundabout repairs due to begin

Work to resurface the busy Arle Court roundabout in Cheltenham is due to begin later.

Gloucestershire Highways said the road surface was worn out and needed replacing.

The roundabout on the A40 will be closed to traffic while construction work takes place.

Repair work is due to last until 20 February with most of the repairs being carried out on Sundays and through the night during the week.

Gloucestershire highways manager Stephen Burden said: "The road is extremely busy during the working day and to carry out these works during normal working hours, between Monday and Saturday, would cause a lot of congestion.

"We understand that this work will be disruptive to local people and we hope that working on Sundays and in the evening and night time will keep disruption to an absolute minimum."
