Swindon mayor Mick Bray sworn in

Swindon's new mayor Mick Bray has been sworn in.

The Conservative councillor, who represents Freshbrook and Lydiard, takes over from Labour's Ray Ballman.

The Tories have a majority of one in the borough council following the election earlier this month.

This means that if there is a split vote the mayor is entitled to a casting vote. Mr Bray said: "I'm not worried about it. I shall stand up and do as required."
