Cyclist hit by horsebox on Gloucestershire road killed

A 23-year-old cyclist was killed when he was struck by a horsebox on a road in Gloucestershire.

Emergency crews were called to Ford, near Temple Guiting, following reports of the accident on the B4077 at Sunday lunchtime.

A Gloucestershire Police spokeswoman said the victim had suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

"The man is originally from Cambridgeshire, however had recently been living in Cheltenham," she said.

"The driver of the horsebox, a 58-year-old who lives locally, was uninjured."

Anyone who witnessed the accident, which happened just before 13:00 BST, is asked to contact police.
