The Conservative group on Cheltenham Borough Council has elected a new leader.

Councillor Rob Garnham was voted in after Duncan Smith decided to step down as the party leader.

Mr Garnham is also chair of the Police Authority and was recently defeated in his bid to become the Tory candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner.

He has been a borough councillor since 1996 and jointly represents the Park ward with Councillor Tim Harman.
