Twelve people have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving offences in the first week of Gloucestershire Police's Christmas crackdown.
A force spokesman said seven had already been charged and are due before magistrates in the new year.
The arrests were made in Cheltenham, Cinderford, Cirencester, Drybrook, Gloucester, Stroud and Tewkesbury.
A new text messaging system is also in place allowing the public to report suspect drink-drivers to officers.
"If you suspect anyone of getting behind the wheel under the influence text where the car is, its number plate and, if possible, its direction of travel to 07860 0090 095," the force spokesman added.
