Renishaw engineering announces 'record' revenue

A Gloucestershire-based engineering firm which specialises in industrial measuring equipment has announced record revenue for the past year.

Renishaw has reported total group revenue of £346.9m for the 12 months to 30 June, which is up from £331.9m in 2012.

The total number of people employed has risen from 2,904 to 3,235, the company said.

However pre-tax profits are down to £81.5m from £86m.

Most of the company's research and development and manufacturing is carried out in Gloucestershire.

Other assembly facilities are based in Dublin, Cardiff and Pune in India, and the firm has offices in 32 countries, according to its website.
