Three men and a woman have been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with the murder of a man in Gloucester.

Ricky Lee James, 33, and Lucy Dowdall 19, both of Spa Villas, Peter Horn, 29, of Denmark Road and Tyler Johnson, 25, of no fixed address will appear before Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

They are accused of murdering 50-year-old Neil Bennett.

He was found with fatal stab wounds on Saturday near Gloucester Park.

Another man arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed to attend Gloucester police station on 13 August.

The incident happened hours after hundreds of people had filled the city's park for the annual carnival and procession.

Mr Bennett's family has paid tribute to him saying he was a much loved son, brother, uncle and stepdad.

"It's a tragedy the way he's died," said his sister Gail Barnes.

"We're still trying to piece everything together in our minds, but the words people are putting on Facebook are amazing," said Mr Bennett's niece, Tina Barnes.
